Forest Grove Church Cemetery

The Forest Grove Church Cemetery was established in 1885 when Maxey Blanton was buried in a lone grave on a hillside on the Blanton family farm. The Blanton family deeded land to the Forest Grove Baptist Church in 1886 to provide a public cemetery to the church and the community. The cemetery is owned by the church and the association that oversees the upkeep of the cemetery is a ministry under the umbrella of the Forest Grove Baptist Church.

Burials in the cemetery are restricted to members of Forest Grove Baptist Church and members of the Forest Grove Community. For burial and lot information you may contact

An annual business meeting of the cemetery is held the second Tuesday of April. The public is invited.

An annual memorial service is held on the third Sunday of May. The purpose is to remember those who are buried in the cemetery and to commemorate how their presence in our lives changed us and impacted our part of the world.
